Fall is in the Air

Sept 22 is the 1st day of Autumn, it seems like it was just yesterday and I was watching the tree's come back to life. Didn't do anything spectacular this summer, not even so much as a small vacation was to be had. But I still enjoyed the summer, none the less.

We lost our 11 year old Coonhound named Bear, he went to Rainbow Bridge on August 15, he fought almost a year long battle with Renal failure. He started to experience seizures in early August, we put him down on the 15th. And the house is so lonely without him being here, but its still nice knowing that he is not suffering anymore.

Now we have the task at hand of getting the chicken yard ready for the upcoming winter, which means making sure that the hen houses are in good shape, replacing a few roofs here and there and replacing some wire on a few of the older pens, winters are hard on the hen house's, we get around 5 good years and then things need to be fixed or replaced.

I enjoy the fact that winter means our day ends much early. I don't do much work in the chicken yard at all anymore. My back just won't take it, but I still try to feed the chickens that are close to the house, and they watch for me every evening and they come running for their nightly hand out of bread. And then they are off to roost for the night.

Wow, Summer is moving on.

Its hard to believe that its been so long since I last posted here. Time just passes us by so fast.

Summer is already on its way out, school started for the kids in this area today. The tree's have started to change their colors already and getting ready for winter. Most of the hens have stopped sitting on eggs, and the youngsters are all about 1/2 grown at this time.

Our dog Bear, an 11 year old Black & Tan Coonhound, he went to Rainbow Bridge on August 14 during the early morning hours. The house is quiet without him, but he put up on heck of a fight for the 9 months he survived with Renal Failure. Its just such an awful disease.

Anyway, I hope everyone is doing fine.

A new Fridge

Hubby finally broke down and got a new fridge, and I feel like we hit the big time...lol.

We use a ton of ice, so #1 son talked us into getting one with an ice maker, and let me tell ya.... I am loving being able to go to the fridge for ice and not find empty ice cube trays and NO ICE....so life is good, at least for the moment...lol

ATV Accident

A week ago today, my 25 year old son Matt, he wrecked his ATV. He belongs to a local ATV group, thank god for that much as least. He told me his front wheel caught on a tree stump he didn't see and it flipped him over, so he hit a tree with the right side of his body. He was lucky to end up with only brush burns, but it extended the whole length of his arm and the cuts where deep.

I told him to report off work on Monday and go see the Chiropractor and get adjusted, I figured he probably hurt his back, as well as his neck. So Monday, when he woke up, I could tell right away that his neck was hurting him.

As the day progressed on, he started to feel really bad, I ended up taking him to the emergency room, they took X-rays of his arm, neck and back and said that he was lucky that he didn't get hurt worse than what he did. And they gave him a Tetanus shot and he got a lecture from the doctor as well as me about ATV safety.

He has been riding now for a good number of years, but he still worries me when I know they are going for one of their all day rides. And I have tried to pound the fact into his head since he was a teen, that there is always safety in numbers, and to never ride alone.

Bring Back Sasquatch

Not to far from me, is a little stand that makes the best darn sub sandwiches anyplace in PA.
The name of the place is "Niki's Quick 6".

It seems that the wooden Sasquatch that was in the front area of the store, someone liked the little guy so much, that they just walked right out the door with them.

The story even made it to the local TV stations, so now we are all praying that Sasquatch will be returned home safely, because he is definitely being missed.

Soda Pop and High Blood Pressure

If you have high blood pressure, and you are a soda pop drinker, you might want to really think twice about drinking any type of soda pop, even the diet types are very high in sodium.

A few year ago, I started to have problems with my BP, so I gave up any type of Soda pop and my BP dropped down to an acceptable range, but I still had to take a water pill to keep it there.

I drink Green Tea most of the time, its just better for me the whole way around and it doesn't give my BP an added boost that it doesn't need.

About a week ago, we had ran out of the green tea, and I had a few bottles of Diet CF Coke here, so I drank them and my BP went nuts on me again, it shot right back up to 147/96, and I knew without a doubt that it was because of the darn Diet Coke.

I am drinking my green tea again and my BP has dropped back down to 135/81, which is about a normal range for me.

Traffic - what works for you?

I have been a member of Entrecard for awhile now, but my major complaint is the lack of reciprocal droppers. I have tried various blog rolls and other stuff from the entrecard members, but I have found that you are lucky to get 3 out of 10 drops returned.

I have found that the time that I spend surfing a few traffic exchange's, has been a much better return on my investment, I have my own traffic exchange at http://forumfinderplus.info and I strickly surf that network of exchanges.

I just signed up at Spottt 2 days ago, and I am not all that impressed with it, not so much as one click to my site has come through yet. But I will try it for a week and then I will dump it, thats if it doesn't produce and traffic for me.

What are some of your ways to get a good flow of traffic to your blog or blogs?

RIP - Thehangout2

Every year I have problems with my host for thehangout2.com aka: SneezieBreezie. And this year has been no different. I did one of those deals years ago where for a certain price they set up the domain and the hosting, this was a HUGE MISTAKE on my part, because the host who is Noeclue.com, they have turned out to be the worst service out there. Frequent down time has been a never ending problem, and each and every year, they forget to renew my domain. So the domain expired at the end of May, Noeclue.com does not respond to emails or tickets and the domain registar who is cheap domains, well they will do nothing to help me.

So, in view off all of these events, I am going to try and revive this site here, and then see if I can get it into PPP as well as SocialSpark when the time comes.

I have registered the SneezieBreezie.com and figured I might as well put it to use as well.

Much better

I am starting to feel much much better now, my wheezing has backed off a great deal. And since I am off the Benadryl, my mental clarity has cleared up as well.

I have to go see the Chiropractor today at Noon, I have pain going down my left leg and into the bottom of my left foot. Last week it was my hip that was giving me problems, he adjusted me for that and it got rid of the pain in my hip by the next day. But then a few days ago I started to feel it moving into my foot now.

I don't get any days at all anymore where I am completely pain free, I have learned over the past few years, that on the days where my pain levels are high, that is just best for me to not do anything more than what I really have to do, even my Chiropractor tells me to go home and take it easy on those days.

But none the less, I am happy that my allergy symptoms are backing down.

Allergies

The summer has always been the worst time of the year for me, I have problems year around, but during the summers my allergies always seem to cause an Asthma flare up for me.

I started feeling like crap on Saturday, lost my voice and then started to wheeze at night. I had already set up an appointment with my doctor on Friday, the appt was for another reason. But it all worked out well.

She took me off my Benadryl, which was doing nothing more than causing mental confusion and turning me into a Zombie, so she put me back on Singulair and I am actually feeling better already. I just hope I can finally get a good nights sleep tonight. I have to go to Giant Eagle sometime tomorrow and get the rest of my prescriptions filled, I didn't have the energy to drive way out there today, so I figured one more day would not kill me.
